For a year now, Lyca Productions' 2.0 which stars Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead and is directed by Shankar has been in the news for its massive scale of release in China. However, the sci-fi movie which was supposed to hit 56000 screens in China (3D versions included) on July 12, 2019, seems to be not releasing there anymore. 

Reportedly, HY Media which was supposed to present 2.0's Chinese version titled Bollywood Robot 2.0: Resurgence is rethinking the release date, given that Disney's The Lion King is releasing within a few days after in their country.

Though nothing has been officially announced, it is being reported that HY Media's last release Padman starring Akshay Kumar had not reaped benefits as they had expected and 2.0 being a bigger gamble, the distribution banner does not want to take risks at the moment.
