Dhanush and director Vetri Maaran are reuniting for Thamizh Murugan, ending days of fan speculation around the DxV teaser. Sai Abhyankkar composes the music, continuing his collaboration with Dhanush after Om. The film is written by Arivumathi and produced by Dhanush under his Wunderbar Films banner alongside Production Miles To Go.

Thamizh Murugan marks the fifth collaboration between Dhanush and Vetri Maaran, following Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran. Plot details, extended cast and production start date are yet to be announced. Vetri Maaran is currently filming Arasan with Silambarasan TR, set in the Vada Chennai universe.
