"I Kneel Down and Ask for Your Forgiveness" - Ravi Mohan Gets Emotional at JFW Awards

Ravi Mohan delivered an emotional speech at the JFW awards in Chennai, publicly apologising to his fans for the first time since his personal life became the subject of intense public scrutiny over the past two years.

Reflecting on his 23-year journey in cinema, the actor acknowledged that an emotional decision on his part had hurt those who stood by him. "I made one small mistake, and that ended up hurting all of you. I became a little too emotional in my personal life," he said. In one of the most moving moments of the evening, he knelt before the audience and sought forgiveness. "I promise that I will never again betray cinema, or any of you, or my fans who love me. I will definitely come back. In fact, I already am."

He also credited his colleagues for dissuading him from leaving cinema altogether and noted that one unexpected positive from the controversy was the conversations it sparked around mental health. "Many people who never knew how to speak about it reached out to me saying, 'Because of you, I also feel like opening up.' That made me incredibly happy," he said.

Ravi Mohan's separation from Aarti Ravi, announced in 2024, spiralled into a prolonged public dispute, with both parties making allegations against each other while divorce and maintenance proceedings continued in court. His association with singer Keneshaa Francis drew sustained public attention, culminating in an emotional press conference where he condemned cyberbullying and announced a temporary pause from acting.

The actor is now back at work, shooting for Benz alongside Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly, directing An Ordinary Man, and awaiting the August 28 release of Karathey Babu.
