Dawn Pictures has released the full trailer for Idhayam Murali, offering a more detailed look at the film's characters and story. Atharvaa's titular character is established as a man deeply in love with Preity Mukhundhan's character, unable to communicate his feelings — and seemingly rejected when he does. The trailer reveals that years after his college days, Idhaya is still pining for her and travels abroad in search of her.
Kayadu Lohar's role remains somewhat ambiguous in the trailer, hinting at a brief romantic angle, while Fahadh Faasil's character appears to cross paths with Idhaya during his journey and becomes a key figure in helping him reunite with his longtime love. A standout moment has Fahadh's character quipping that the film's central twist is something "not even Korean dramas have," signalling a self-aware screenplay with a strong sense of humour. A fun nod sees Fahadh ask his in-car AI to play Vennelave Vennelave from Minsara Kanavu, only for it to play a track of the same name from Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga.
The film also stars Natty, Thaman S, Sudhakar, Niharika NM and Anju Kurian, with cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. Idhayam Murali releases on July 10.
MovieCrow Take: Director-turned-producer Aakash Baskaran brings back the almost-forgotten breezy rom-com vibe reminiscent of director Jeeva's era. Promising trailer, and the entire cast looks perfectly suited to their roles.
