56000 Screens for 2.0 in China: Becomes first 3D foreign film to have the widest release!

 

In an official statement, Lyca Productions producers of Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 have announced that their film will have a huge release in China in around 10,000 movie theaters throughout the country. Dubbed and subtitled versions of the Shankar directorial will be presented in China by HY Media, which is also incidentally presenting Akshay Kumar's Padman on December 14, 2018 there.

2.0 will be released in around 56000 screens in May, 2019 (date yet to be announced), with 47000 of them dedicated to the 3D version of the movie. This makes the film the first 3D film in history to have the widest release in a foreign country.
 
2.0 is a sci-fi film which marks the return of 'Chitti the robot' (played by Rajinikanth) from its spiritual prequel Enthiran, and is about how he helps fight a threat that is hell bent on destroying the human race. The Rs. 500 Cr movie made a huge box-office buzz by collecting Rs. 400 Cr in the first 4 days of its release and has been minting money ever since.
