The makers of Rio Raj's Ram in Leela announced the film's release date on Thursday, a day after unveiling the film's second single, Seppusela.

Directed by debutant Ramachandran Kannan, the romantic entertainer features newcomer Vartika as the female lead. The film had wrapped filming back in March and also stars Munishkanth, Chetan, Deepa Venkat, Malavika Avinash and Nayana Elza in key roles. While plot details are yet to be disclosed, the film is expected to revolve around the highs and lows of a relationship and the everyday chaos of living with a partner.

On the technical front, Ram in Leela has music by Ankit Menon, cinematography by Mallikarjun and editing by YNC Shiva. The film is backed by R Ravindran and Sudharsan, with Trident Arts and Eywa Entertainment presenting it. Ram in Leela is scheduled to open in theatres on August 21.

Upon release, the film will clash with Modha Rathri, starring Rishikanth and Anishma Anilkumar, at the box office, while Elan's sophomore directorial Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, starring Saanve Megghanna, is set to premiere on Netflix the same day. The release comes a week after Suriya's Vishwanath And Sons, Kavin's Hi and Vishal's Magudam.
