Suriya's already packed year is set to get even bigger — after the blockbuster success of RJ Balaji's Karuppu (which crossed Rs 300 crore) and the upcoming Vishwanath & Sons releasing August 14, the actor has now confirmed a third release before 2026 wraps up.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Suriya revealed that Suriya 47, which recently completed filming, will hit theatres by year-end. The yet-to-be-titled project marks Jithu Madhavan's debut in Tamil cinema and is backed by Suriya's Zhagaram Studios alongside Jyothika's 2D Entertainment.

Joining Suriya in the film are Nazriya Nazim and Naslen, marking the first time all three actors have worked together, and Jithu Madhavan's third directorial overall.

Jithu Madhavan previously helmed the hit horror-comedy Romancham and the offbeat entertainer Aavesham (starring Fahadh Faasil), and has also written films like Painkili and Balan: The Boy. He recently noted that Suriya 47 is being crafted specifically to resonate with Tamil Nadu audiences. While plot details remain officially unconfirmed, reports suggest Suriya plays an eccentric police officer leading a team of similarly quirky cops.

On the technical side, the film introduces Sushin Shyam to Tamil cinema as composer. Further details on cast, crew, and release date are yet to be revealed.
