Karthi continues his busy run of signings — with four projects already in various stages of production following Vaa Vaathiyaar, he's now added another to the list, this time teaming up with acclaimed director Mohan Raja, who returns to filmmaking four years after Godfather (2022) with Chiranjeevi.
Announcing the news on X, the Thani Oruvan director expressed excitement about working with Karthi, calling it a special milestone as it marks his 11th directorial venture in the 25th year of his career. He credited his family and audience's continued support for the opportunities he's had, and expressed gratitude while asking for blessings on this new journey — produced under Prince Pictures.
By the blessings of my parents, my family, and all your love, I’ve always been showered with good work.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but the film has been described as a family entertainer built around solid values, heartfelt emotion, and inspiring heroism. The project is backed by S Lakshman Kumar of Prince Pictures, who's also producing Karthi's upcoming Sardar 2 from PS Mithran. More details on cast, crew, and release plans are expected in the coming weeks.
Karthi's Sardar 2 is set to release September 10. He also has Marshal, a period action drama from Taanakaran director Tamizh, along with the untitled Karthi 30 helmed by Kalyan Shankar (Mad, Mad Square). He's also reportedly attached to lead HIT: The Fourth Case.
