Director Elan, known for Pyaar Prema Kaadhal and Star, is stepping in front of the camera for the first time with his own next directorial, Pyaar Prema Kalyanam. Ahead of its direct-to-Netflix release, the makers dropped a funny promo setting up the story — Elan tells his parents (played by MS Bhaskar and Geetha Kailasam) he wants to get married, then dramatically jumps into a well moments later. Sharing the clip, the team called marriage "the biggest jump into the unknown."

Joining Elan as the female lead is Saanve Megghana, known for Kudumbasthan. Per Netflix's official description, she plays Pavi, a popular influencer who refuses to move out of her family home after marriage — so her husband moves in with her instead, kicking off a chaotic, heartfelt journey through culture clashes and shifting expectations as the couple redefines what happily-ever-after looks like on their own terms.

The supporting cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Elango Kumaravel, Senthil, and Maran. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music, marking his third collaboration with Elan. The film premieres on Netflix on August 21, backed by Srinidhi Sagar under the Rise East Entertainment banner.

This marks Elan's third film as director, following his debut with Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (starring Harish Kalyan and Raiza Wilson). Saanve, meanwhile, has previously featured in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Most Eligible Bachelor, and Pushpaka Vimanam before her Tamil debut, and has Kaaviya Kaadhal with Bhaarath lined up next.
