The release trailer for DC, directed by Arun Matheswaran, is out ahead of the film's August 7 theatrical release. The trailer establishes a gritty revenge thriller — Lokesh Kanagaraj's character Devadas and Wamiqa Gabbi's Chandra are on the run from a police officer seeking vengeance for a fellow cop's killing, while also being tied to a group of criminals who have stolen a cache of discarded weapons. The trailer hints at Devadas finding brief solace with Sanjana Krishnamoorthy's character Parvathi, even as his journey with Chandra hurtles towards a violent conclusion.

DC marks Lokesh Kanagaraj's first full-fledged acting role. Anirudh Ravichander, who has scored all of Lokesh's directorial ventures, composes the music here in his first collaboration with director Arun Matheswaran. The full 15-track soundtrack was unveiled at a DC Rave event in Chennai. The film is presented by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, with cinematography by Mukesh G and editing by GK Prasanna.
