Marking Malavika Mohanan's birthday on Tuesday, the makers of her upcoming film Pocket Novel released a video offering a glimpse into its making. Directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja of Aaranya Kaandam and Super Deluxe fame, the film sees Malavika Mohanan playing a character named Jeeva. Producers Tyler Durden and Kino Fist shared a post wishing Jeeva, their one and only, a very happy birthday, tagging Malavika in it. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Raj B Shetty and Kishore in key roles.

The behind-the-scenes video captures Malavika having fun on the sets, interacting playfully with co-stars including child actor Yuvan Krishna, Vijay Sethupathi and Raj B Shetty. It also offers the first proper look at her character, with the clip showing Malavika striking intense and graceful poses as Jeeva, hinting at a complex and layered performance from the actor.

Thiagarajan Kumararaja is known for crafting such distinctive characters, as seen earlier with Yasmin Ponnappa's role in Aaranya Kaandam and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's in Super Deluxe.

Earlier in March this year, Malavika had described her collaboration with Thiagarajan Kumararaja as the biggest highlight of her month, calling him one of the finest filmmakers of the generation and adding that watching his process and being shaped by his guidance has been among the most special creative experiences of her career so far.

Pocket Novel is produced by Thiagarajan himself under the Tyler Durden and Kino Fist banner, along with SD Ezhilmathy, who also serves as the film's costume designer. The technical crew includes composer Ilaiyaraaja, editor Sathyaraj Natarajan (who also serves as executive producer), cinematographer Nirav Shah of Super Deluxe fame, and stunt director Dhilip Subbarayan.

A release date for Pocket Novel is yet to be announced.
