A lot has happened since the shooting of Annaatthe got postponed only last week at Hyderabad. After 4 crew members tested COVID-19 positive, lead actor Rajinikanth was hospitalized for 3 days due to severe fluctuations in blood pressure which eventually forced him to put an end to his political debut. 

Rajini is still in post-hospitalization recovery phase due to his transplanted Kidney and buzz is that he will be resuming shooting for Annaatthe in February, 2021. This time, the team plans to conduct filming locally in Chennai and word is that Rajinikanth too is keen on completing the movie as early as possible.

Annaatthe directed by Siva also stars Keerthy Suresh Nayanthara, Meena and Khushbu in pivotal roles and is expected to be a Tamil New Year (April, 2021) release. The film touted to be an action drama is produced by Sun Pictures and has Imman for music.
