It was officially announced by Sun Pictures that the shooting of their upcoming production Annaatthe, which was taking place in Hyderabad has been stalled as four of their crew members tested positive for Coronavirus COVID-19. Rajinikanth who will soon be making his political debut however tested negative and is expected to return to Chennai.

The shooting of Annaatthe was planned at Hyderabad till this weekend, after was Rajini was expected to take a break for his political party announcement. The actor also had plans of completing shooting by Pongal to focus on his political campaign from thereon.
The actor was shooting at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, taking on 14 hour shifts for speedy completion of his portions and only time can tell if there will be any alterations to them. Tipped to be a rural drama, Annaatthe is directed by Siva and also stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushbhu in key roles.
