Sarkar Vs TN Sarkar: A.R. Murugadoss refuses to refrain from criticizing the Govt!

A.R. Murugadoss' film Sarkar may have ended its theatrical run at the movies but the legal expeditions surrounding the film are still an ongoing process. In the hearing of the 'anticipatory bail plea' case and in response to AIADMK's demand that the director give an undertaking that he would not indulge in making objectionable scenes criticizing the government in the future, Murugadoss has registered his denial to do the same.

Murgadoss' lawyers made it clear that the director has no intention of undertaking any oath that waives his 'freedom of speech' and that he had projected 'nothing wrong' in the film. They also added that some scenes (like the one mentioned here) were removed from the movie only to avoid conflict with anyone, and not because the maker has admitted to any wrongdoing.

The Madras High Court has now extended A.R.Murugadoss' bail plea and has granted the state government two weeks' time to register a case, if they feel a 'wrongdoing' has been carried out. The next hearing on this case will take place on December 13, 2018.
