MovieCrow Box Office Report - June 13 to 15

Vishnu VIshal's Mundasupatti and Vivek's Naan Than Bala had hit the screens last Friday (June 13). While Mundasupatti opened to positive reviews, Naan Than Bala failed to create any buzz whatsoever. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend (June 13-15).

1. Manjapai

Vemal - Lakshmi Menon - Rajkiran starrer Manjapai has retained most of the screens from its first week, thanks to the backing of Thirupathi Brothers banner. However, due to mixed reviews, the movie has been getting lesser patronage when compared to the first weekend.

2. Mundasupatti

Newcomer Ram Kumar's retro comedy entertainer Mundasupatti received mostly positive reviews from the critics. The occupancy level increased on Saturday and Sunday, when compared to the opening day.

3. Yaamirukka Bayamey

Yaamirukka Bayame continued to attract audience at the multiplexes even in its 6th weekend, and the movie has turned out to be a super hit.

4. Naan Than Bala

Due to low key promotions, not many even knew that Vivek's Naan Than Bala had hit the screens last weekend. The reviews revealed that Vivek as a righteous person is impressive, but, otherwise, the movie is a disaster, which further reduced the movie's prospects at the box office.

Other Movies

Kochadaiyaan's 3D version is holding on to few screens at the multiplexes, while the 2D version has been removed. Last week's release Un Samayal Arayil is just running in a handful of screens in the city, as it failed to bring in the audience.

Upcoming week's releases(s)

Vadacurry, starring Jai and Swati, will be hitting the screens on Thursday (June 19). Directed by newcomer Saravana Rajan, Sunny Leone's item song has been the USP so far.
