Mundasupatti - Worth a visit

The film is a neat comedy and full marks to the debutant maker Ram for that. It starts off promisingly. But one feels it takes time to get into the main plot. While the scenes themselves are not redundant, for a film that is essentially a comedy it does take time to warm up.(more)

A feel-good comedy entertainer

Mundasupatti could have used some trimming as it gets slightly tedious at times but the feeling while coming out, is one of satisfaction. This debut offering from director Ram Kumar has turned out to be a worthy product from the CV Kumar - Fox Star Studios camp. (more)

Mundaasupatti - Picture Perfect

Though being predictable, this one glues you to the seat for an enjoyable two and half hours. While story is a sure win, screenplay is maintained simple to ease the confusion that may arise, had it had too many twists. (more)

Mundasupatti is a decent attempt

The villagers have been perfectly cast and their unreasonable fears and beliefs seem very real, leading to a lot of comic situations. Unfortunately the narration is extremely slow paced and the film too long, taking away some of the fun. (more)

Mundasupatti - Rollicking Comedy

There are eye rolling stupid moments but they are put together in such a way to provide maximum laughter. The last 20 minutes climax is superb as it is fun unlimited. At the end it is a feel good fun movie, which was originally made as a short film. (more)

A tragedy today is bound to be a comedy tomorrow

They say that a tragedy today is bound to be a comedy tomorrow an unfortunate incident, a set of beliefs to explain that incident, and the culture of fear and superstition that this broods are all probable misnomers that we all will look back at and have a mighty laugh. Take it a step further by adding situational comedy to an initial tragedy and what we have is a film that succeeds in many levels with the possible muse of timing and pacing. (more)

Mundasupatti has a novel theme dipped in wit

Incredible as this may sound, the Tamil film by Ram Kumar, Mundasupatti, tells the story of a village where people hide themselves the moment they see a camera. They believe that anybody being snapped will die soon. This illogical view or plain simple superstition emerges after some villagers whose pictures were clicked by an Englishman in 1947, die. For all one knows, they may have succumbed to some of kind of virulent bug with the camera being unjustly labelled the villain of the tragedy. (more)
