The highly awaited announcement on actor Vikram's upcoming movie Thangalaan is here, and it has now been officially confirmed that Thangalaan release date is August 15, 2024 (Indian Independence Day). Thangalaan written and directed by Pa. Ranjith, is a period drama set in the British colonial era, and has Parvathy, Malavika Mohanan playing female leads.

The movie produced by Studio Green, Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions has GV Prakash for music. Thangalaan revolves around the titular tribal leader (Vikram), who goes on a valiant struggle against the British colonizers, after they plot to seize his land for gold mining. 

Thangalaan so far has had a trailer and a first single release titled Minikki Minikki.
