Thangalaan starring actor Vikram in the lead is an upcoming period drama that is written and directed by Pa. Ranjith. The movie, a production venture of Studio Green and Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions, had its first single release today. The catchy GV Prakash composed track is titled Minikki Minikki in Tamil, and has vocals by Sinduri Vishal, lyrics by Uma Devi.
Thangalaan first single's Hindi version Murga Murgi has lyrics by Raqueeb Alam, Telugu version Manakki Manakki has lyrics by Bhaskarabhatta, the Malayalam version Midukki Midukki has lyrics by Kaithapram, and the Kannada version Nanagu Nanagu has lyrics by Varadaraj Chikkaballapura. All versions of the Thangalaan first single have been sung by Sinduri Vishal.

Set against the backdrop of Karnataka's Kolar Gold Fields, Thangalaan has Vikram playing a tribal leader, who is up against the British in their plot to seize his tribe's land for gold mining. The movie is based on real life incidents from the colonial era, and also stars Parvathy, Malavika Mohanan, among others.
Junglee music label holds the Thangalaan audio rights, and Netflix has Thangalaan's OTT rights.
