Maaveeran [Mahaveerudu in Telugu] is an upcoming Sivakarthikeyan starrer, which is directed by the multiple National award winning Madonne Ashwin of Mandela fame. The movie's digital rights were said to be acquired by Amazon Prime Video OTT platform in both languages, and now it has been additionally confirmed that Sun TV and Gemini TV have acquired the satellite rights of the film in Tamil and Telugu respectively. 

Official announcement on the same is however awaited. An out and out action entertainer, Maaveeran also stars Aditi Shankar, Telugu actor Sunil, Yogi Babu, Mysskin and Saritha among others. Produced by Shanthi Talkies, Maaveeran has Bharath Shankar for music and Vidhu Ayyanna for cinematography.

The film is planning to release in February 2023, while an announcement on the release date awaits.

[April 22, 2023]: A latest poster update confirms Maaveeran/Mahaveerudu's release date to be August 11, 2023, its OTT partner to be Amazon Prime Video and satellite partner in Tamil, Telugu languages as the Sun Network i.e. Sun and Gemini TV respectively.
