As reported before, the official announcement for Chiyaan 61, actor Vikram's 61st film has been made with director Pa. Ranjith and Studio Green Productions. The film will be K.E. Gnanavel Raja's 23rd production and confirmations on the rest of the cast and crew are expected to follow soon.

We has also previously reported that Chiyaan 61 plans to kickstart shooting in 2022. This will be Vikram's immediate next film after Karthik Subbaraj's Mahaan.
