The first look of Pattas, Dhanush's 39th film was unveiled on the occasion of the actor's birthday and has been garnering considerable attention ever since. The poster features the younger Dhanush who plays the titular role in the movie alongside Telugu actress Mehreen Pirzada and it has also come to light that the movie circles around a martial arts form which was practised by the Cholas even before the likes of 'Kalari' came into existence. 

Pattas currently has around a month of shooting left and it is currently taking place at Chennai. Dhanush will also been seen in a father role in this movie, which is touted to be an emotional entertainer and actress Sneha will be seen as the older Dhanush's pair.

Pattas is directed by Durai Senthilkumar and is a production venture of Satya Jyothi Films. The movie has Om Prakash for cinematography and Vivek-Merwin for music.
