Plagiarism Case against Kaala dismissed by Madras High Court!

If one may recall, around this time last year, a director by the name K.S. Rajashekaran had filed a case against Rajinikanth starrer Kaala, alleging that the title and the story-line of the film, belonged to him and that he had them registered way back in 1996. The incident gained more prominence when it was revealed that in 2012, the same director had successfully obtained the an objection order over the use of the title Karikaalan, which was now being used as Kaala's subtitle and that Rajashekaran is an erstwhile assistant of Kasthuri Raja, whose son Dhanush is producing the Rajinikanth starer.

Now, media reports suggest that the Madras High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Rajasekharan seeking the stall of the film's release. Despite the claims made by Rajasekaran, the court refused to pass an order and dismissed the case due to inconclusive proof on Thursday.

Kaala which is directed by Pa. Ranjith and presented by Lyca Productions, is currently expected to hit theatre screens on June 15, 2018
