Mysskin's Thupparivaalan has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from all sections of the media. The film has also opened on a good note, with a Day 1 Chennai city gross of 37 lakhs. This is the best opening yet, for a Vishal film. From all over TN, the film is said to have grossed as to 2.4 CR.

With such good talk for the film, Thupparivaalan is expected to do steady business at least till the big Pooja Holidays films (Spyder, Karuppan and Hara Hara Mahadevaki) arrive.
