Vishal's upcoming home production Thupparivaalan which is being helmed by director Mysskin, has developed a change in its star cast. If reports are anything to go by, actress Rakul Preet Singh has opted out of the movie citing date issues. It is being said that her allotted dates for this bilingual (Tamil & Telugu) movie, seems to have had a clash with one of her other films. This resulted in the actress opting out of the project. With this development, her Tamil venture this year has sized down to the sole untitled Mahesh Babu bilingual.

The team on the other hand, have reportedly replaced the actress with Anu Emmanuel. Anu has made notable appearances in Malayalam and Telugu films so far. If her casting is confirmed, then Thupparivaalan will mark her debut kollywood appearance. The movie's current star cast includes Akshara Haasan, Vinay, Prasanna and K. Bhagyaraj.
