MovieCrow Box Office Report - August 19 to 21

Vijay Sethupathi's Dharmadurai and Srikanth's Nambiar had hit the screens last weekend. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Dharmadurai

Director Seenu Ramasamy's Dharmadurai opened to fair reviews and the audience found it to be an entertaining rural entertainer. It could very well go on to become Vijay Sethupathi's fourth consecutive hit as a solo hero if the movie maintains its momentum this week.

2. Joker

From Superstar Rajinikanth to Dhanush, Joker has been the talk of everyone in the city now. Thanks to the overwhelming positive buzz, the movie garnered noteworthy footfalls across the multiplexes.

3. Nambiar

Srikanth's Nambiar opened to mixed reviews and the occupancy levels were nothing to rave about too.

Other Movies

In spite of the new releases, Rajinikanth's Kabali, directed by Pa Ranjith, held on to sizeable number of screens in the city, with ardent fans promptly watching the film multiple times. Vikram Prabhu's Wagah lost majority of its screens as the movie was let down by a lethargic screenplay. KS Ravikumar's Mudinja Ivana Pudi sank without a trace.

Upcoming week's releases

Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai and few more lesser known films will be hitting the screens on August 26.
