Ajith's Good Bad Ugly Removed from OTT following Madras High Court Injunction in Ilaiyaraaja Case

Actor Ajith Kumar’s 2025 blockbuster Good Bad Ugly has been removed from its OTT platform, Netflix India as of September 16, 2025 (Tuesday). The move comes 8 days after a Madras High Court directive in a legal dispute between veteran music composer Ilaiyaraaja, and the makers of Good Bad Ugly, Mythri Movie Makers.

Good Bad Ugly written and directed by Aadhik Ravichandran, has music by GV Prakash Kumar, and T-series as its official audio label. The Good Bad Ugly trailer unveiled on April 4, 2025 revealed that GV Prakash remixed the Ilaiyaraaja composed Oththa Roova song from the movie Nattupura Pattu (1996).

Good Bad Ugly's theatrical release on April 10, 2025 further revealed that the Ilaiyaraaja composed Ilamai Idho Idho song from Sakalakala Vallavan (1982), and En Jodi Manja Kuruvi song from Vikram (1986) have also been used in the Ajith starrer.

Ilaiyaraaja filed a legal suit alleging the unauthorized use of three of his iconic songs, and claimed that Mythri Movie Makers neither sought his consent, nor paid royalties for the tracks placed in Good Bad Ugly. On September 8, 2025, the Madras High Court issued a temporary injunction, restraining the producers from “exhibiting, screening, distributing, selling, publishing, or broadcasting” the film with the disputed songs on any platform, including OTT.

Following the same, Good Bad Ugly which has been streaming on Netflix since May 8, 2025 has now been pulled off Netflix India. However, Good Bad Ugly remains available for streaming in territories outside India in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
