Coolie starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming multi-starrer action thriller written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. A Sun Pictures production, Coolie is gearing up to hit theater screens next year, and recent buzz suggests that the likely Coolie release date is May 1, 2025 (Thursday). 

Coolie is aiming for the Labour day aka International Workers' day weekend, and May 1 release will ensure a four day opening for the Tamil movie. Touted to be a film based on gold smuggling, Coolie has Rajinikanth playing a character named Deva.

The movie also stars Nagarjuna as Simon, Upendra as Kaleesha, Sathyaraj as Rajasekar, Soubin Shahir as Dayal, Shruti Haasan as Preethi, among others. Coolie's technical crew includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, and Philomin Raj for edits.
