On Sunday, it was officially updated that the shooting of Suriya 44 (tentative title), written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj has come to a wrap. Actor Suriya, who is the co-producer, lead actor of Suriya 44 took to his x page to share the update along with a black and white image of him embracing his director.

A production venture of Suriya's 2D Entertainment, and Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Films, Suriya 44 was previously buzzed to be releasing for Pongal in January, 2025. As of date, Suriya 44 is not releasing for Pongal, 2025. 

Also starring Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Sujith Shankar, Thamizh, Prem Kumar, Ramachandran Durairaj, Sandeep Raj, Murugavel, Remya Suresh, MD Asif, Shriya Saran in a special song appearance, among others, Suriya 44 has Santhosh Narayanan for music, Shreyaas Krishna for cinematography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali for edits.
