Following a prevue, Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth in the lead, is gearing up for a trailer release. On Monday, Lyca Productions, the banner behind the film, announced Vettaiyan's trailer release date as October 2, 2024, i.e. Gandhi Jayanti Wednesday. Vettaiyan trailer will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages on the Sun TV YouTube channel.

Titled Vettaiyan: The Hunter in dubbed version, Vettaiyan is scheduled to release in theaters on October 10, 2024. TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim (2021), Kootathil Oruthan (2017) fame has written and directed this multi-starrer cop action drama, while Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music.  

The movie stars Rajinikanth in a titular cop role who is an encounter specialist, Amitabh Bachchan as Sathyadev (voice dubbed by Prakash Raj), Fahadh Faasil as Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Manju Warrier as Thara, Vettaiyan's wife, Ritika Singh as ASI Roopa, Dushara Vijayan as Saranya, Rohini as Nazeema, Rao Ramesh as DGP D. Shrinivas, Kishore as SP Harish Kumar, Abhirami as Swetha, Shaji Chen as Chennai Police Commissioner among others.

The technical crew of Vettaiyan also inlcudes SR Kathir for cinematography, Anbariv for action, B Kiruthika for screenplay, and Philomin Raj for edits. Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies is Vettaiyan's Tamil Nadu distributor.
