Action adventure Thangalaan starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead released in theaters on August 15, 2024. The movie written and directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, Neelam Productions is currently gearing up for a digital premiere on Netflix. Buzz has it that Thangalaan's OTT release date is September 20, 2024. 

An official announcement on the same is however awaited. Set during the colonial British era, Thangalaan tells the story of a tribesman (Vikram) who decides to accompany a British explorer in search of gold to the Kolar region, that is believed to be guarded by a spirit warrior (Malavika Mohanan). What turns does Vikram's intentions of uplifting his tribe take, is what forms the rest of the movie. 

Actor Vikram comes in five different roles in this film, alongside an ensemble of Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, among others. Thangalaan has GV Prakash for music, A. Kishor Kumar for cinematography, and Selva RK for edits.
