Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming action drama, that marks the maiden collaboration of the Superstar with writer, director TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim (2021), Kootathil Oruthan (2017) fame. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2o24, and Rajinikanth had previously revealed Vettaiyan's release date as October 10, 2024 [Thursday].

While Vettaiyan's Dusshera holiday release awaits official announcement, it has come to light that 18 days of shooting is still pending for the movie. Rajinikanth had completed his portions back in May; It remains to be seen if Vettaiyan makes it to the Dussehra box-office in Tamil Nadu. 

Vettaiyan is a production venture of Lyca Productions. The film will be clashing Suriya's big-budget Kanguva if released on October 10, 2024.
