Good Bad Ugly starring actor Ajith Kumar in the lead had its first look poster release this Sunday, and the movie was confirmed to be releasing for Pongal in January, 2025. A Mythri Movie Makers production, Good Bad Ugly marks the maiden collaboration between Ajith and film's writer, director Aadhik Ravichandran. 

Good Bad Ugly's first look featured three avatars of tatted Ajith in full on gangster mode. 

Concept-wise the poster packed a ton, but Ajith's face looked a tad different than normal in Good Bad Ugly's first look making fans comment on the declining quality of poster designs coming out of Tamil cinema off late. [Notably, Good Bad Ugly first look was designed by a motion designer and not a publicity designer].

But not all fans seemed to be bothered by the Good Bad Ugly first look design. From finding references to the recent Malayalam hit film Aavesham (2024), to the poster giving off South Korean hit The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil (2019), to Ajith's look being reminiscent of Hollywood actor  John Goodman's look in the crime comedy The Big Lebowski (1998), some of the fan reactions to the poster, and observations found on X:
