Karimanal Venkatesan Anand aka KV Anand was a well known name in the Tamil film industry , who went from being a photojournalist to a cinematographer to a director. KV Anand tragically passed away in April, 2021 but his films still have a large following, one of them being the political action thriller Ko (2011). 

Ko stars actor Jiiva in the lead and was the first KV Anand directorial where the lead actor played a journalist. Jiiva portrayed the role of photojournalist Ashwin Kumar, presumably taking a leaf off the director's previous career. Kavan (2017) is the other KV Anand film where Vijay Sethupathi plays a journo/cameraman, also based off KV Anand's former jobs.   

A runaway hit during its time, Ko is now all set to rerelease in theaters in 2024. Ko's re-release date in March 1, 2024 and the film is all set to hit a 100+ screens in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. 

A production venture of RS Infotainment, Ko also stars Karthiga Nair, Pia Bajpai, Prakash Raj, Ajmal Ameer among others. The technical crew of Ko includes Harris Jayaraj for music, Richard M Nathan for cinematography. Ko had previously released in Telugu as Rangam, and was as much as success in neighouring states as Tamil Nadu.
