Mani Ratnam directed Ponniyin Selvan movie is getting a sequel this April 28, and the trailer of Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 aka PS-2 is out now. The first movie ended with a lot of loose ends and Ponniyin Selvan 2 is expected to address all those. Aditha Karikalan (Vikram), the heir prince stands challenged by the rebel Pandyas - a clan out to revenge the Cholas. He also has his long-lost scorned lover Nandini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), and the Chieftains (Sarath Kumar, R. Parthieban) of his own clan executing a mutiny against him. 

Aditha's enemies got to his younger brother Ponniyin Selvan (Jayam Ravi) but he managed to escape alive with the help of an elderly mysterious character - also played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aditha's trusted aide Vanthiyathevan (Karthi) is stranded in his efforts to save Jayam Ravi, while the rest of the family including princess Kundavai (Trisha) fight to find the truth about Ponniyin Selvan. 

The race to the Chola throne has gotten deadlier in Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2, which is a joint production venture of Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. Kalki Krishnamurthy's original Ponniyin Selvan story has a murder awaiting at the end; This has been hinted in the trailer as well. Ponniyin Selvan 2 has AR Rahman for music.
