Pa Ranjith directed Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, which is also his home production is all set to release in theaters on August 31, 2022. The filmmaker in an interview with a YouTube channel has revealed details of his upcoming release. A multi-starrer with Kalaiyarasan, Kalidas Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan in the lead, Natchathiram Nagargiradhu has so far been revealed as a story surrounding a theater play group, who all seem to have their own versions of love. 

Ranjith in the interview further added, "Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is not a love film but a film that talks about love. It is a story that discusses love politically. How influential is caste in love, Why are honour killings triggered by it by take place, how are we to rectify it? Will this ever get rectified? - A theater group decides to create a drama on this topic and discuss the same. They show no one fixed solution instead tey come with small, innocent endings for the drama on this topic."
