Two years ago when actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram first confirmed to have signed Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan movies (PS1 and PS2), a blast from his past made for a viral trend on social media. Everyone knows that Vikram had humble beginnings in the media industry before he made it big in the movies and a a little known fact from those days was unveiled at that time. 

An advertisement poster featuring a vintage Vikram dressed as a King for a brand named 'Chola Tea' was the reveal that trended back then. Now, with Vikram's avatar as an actual Chola king from Ponniyin Selvan (PS1) being unveiled, social media is flooded with several side-by-side comparisons.

PS1 is part one of the Ponniyin Selvan movies produced by Madras Talkies, Lyca Productions. The film is a multi-starrer with AR Rahman for music and hits theater screens on September 30, 2022. Vikram plays heir to a Chola King's throne named Aditya Karikalan in the movie.
