Back in 2019, there was this huge buzz about director Lokesh Kanagaraj teaming up with actor Suriya for a super-hero project titled Irumbukai Mayavi. The movie was supposed to be inspired from the comic The Steel Claw, where the lead character looses his hand in an accident and uses its steel replacement to fight crime [In the comic the lead turns invisible whenever he receives an electric shock and so only his steel hand is visible to the villains].  

Earlier today we had reported that Lokesh Kanagaraj is directing the first project of Rain on Films Pvt Ltd, which is a production banner put together by 10 Kollywood directors namely Mani Ratnam, Shankar, Vetrimaaran, A.R. Murugadoss, Gautham Menon, Balaji Shakthivel, Mysskin, Sasi, Vasantha Balan and Lingusamy.

Now it is being suggested that this first movie is Irumbukai Mayavi and that Suriya will begin shooting for it post Vaadivaasal. An official confirmation on the same is however awaited.
