Mari Selvaraj directed Karnan starring Dhanush in the lead released in theaters on April 9, 2021 and now the movie is gearing up to make its premiere on OTT. Streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has officially announced the premiere date to be May 14, 2021 (Friday) and have unveiled a new teaser for the movie.

Based on real life incidents that stemmed from caste oppression in the Southern most regions of Tamil Nadu, Karnan focusses on an angry young man's fight for the rights of his people and his journey in saving them from those who wield power.

The movie also stars Rajisha Vijayan, Gouri G Kishan, Lal, Yogi Babu among others and has Santhosh Narayanan for music.
