Director Gautham Menon over the years has been vocal about one of his top scripts Kaakha Kaakha being refused by several star actors, before Suriya made the story his own. Interestingly actor Vijay was one such well know name who missed out on the chance of portraying 'ACP Anbuselvan IPS' back in 2003.
While Menon has previously revealed Vijay liked the first half but hesitated about the second, in a recent interview, the director has opened about the reason why. "Generally, I don't write my climax and finalize the end only during the shoot. Only due to this reason, Vijay had refused to work with me in Kaakha Kaakha", the director has been quoted as saying.
It is worth mentioning here that back in 2010 Vijay and Gautham Menon came close to working for a movie titled Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru, which was supposed to be a big budget spy thriller about an Indian-origin man working with the CIA. It is said that Vijay opted out of the project days before shoot because 'it felt like an English film'.
