A year since its release, R. Parthiban's novel attempt of a film, Oththa Seruppu has bagged big awards at the annually conducted Toronto Tamil (International) Film Festival i.e TT(I)FF.

The movie which has only Parthiban appearing on-screen for its entire run-time bagged the jury awards namely Best Feature Film and Best Feature Film Director while also earning Best Solo Act Award for Parthiban. 

TT(I)FF which honours the works of Tamils internationally awards trophies and certificates of cash prizes with each win. Oththa Seruppu is written, directed and produced by Parthiban and the film was last in the news for a potential Hindi remake starring Nawazzudin Siddiqui.
