With the year coming to an end, lets have a look at the box office status of Tamil films which are running in theatres. Karthi's Thambi which released alongside Sivakarthikeyan's Hero on December 20 has bagged the top spot on the last weekend of the year. Both Hero and Thambi bagged mixed response from audience and critics. Thambi is performing better than Hero at the ticket windows. 

Thambi grossed Rs. 72 lakhs this weekend while Hero collected Rs. 59 lakhs in Chennai. In 10 days, Thambi has minted Rs. 2.87 cr in Chennai and around Rs. 14.5 cr in TamilNadu while Hero has grossed Rs. 3.18 cr in Chennai and Rs. 18.7 cr in TN.
