Suriya recently wrapped the shooting of 'Soorarai Pottru' directed by Sudha Kongara of 'Irudhi Suttru' fame. GV Prakash who is scoring the music has begun work on the film's background score. "#sooraraipotru bgscore prep work starts today ... starting music for the opening sequence, " the composer wrote on his twitter handle.  

The film is based on some real-life events that happened in the life of Captain GR Gopinath, who founded Air Deccan. Soorarai Pottru touted to be a period drama has Aparna Balamurali paired opposite Suriya. Mohan Babu, Karunas, Jackie Shroff and Paresh Rawal  will be seen in important roles.

Soorarai Pottru is produced by 2D Entertainment in association with Shikya Entertainment. The technical crew of this film includes G.V. Prakash for music, Niketh Bommi Reddy for cinematography and Sathish Surya for the edits.
