Prateik Babbar to play villain in Rajinikanth's Darbar

 

Bollywood's designated antagonist these days is coming to Tamil soon as actor Prateik Babbar who last played villain in Baaghi 2 and will be seen playing villain in a host of other Hindi films has confirmed that he has bagged a main role in Rajinikanth's upcoming film Darbar. Prateik will be seen playing the villain's son in the movie and his character will be grey shaded as well. 

Talking to Mumbai Mirror on the same, Prateik was quoted as saying, “It has been my aspiration to share screen space with a legend like Rajinikanth sir. I can’t wait to meet him and observe him on set. I have been appreciated for characters with grey shades and I am investing my 200 per cent in this role because it’s an opportunity of a lifetime.”

Darbar is A.R. Murgadoss' maiden venture with Rajinikanth and the actor is said to be playing a cop in this movie. The first look poster of the film came with a line that said, “you decide whether you want me to be good bad or worse,” and it set the tone for the kind of cop the superstar will be playing.

The film has Nayanthara playing female lead and has Anirudh for music, Santosh Sivan for cinematography and Lyca Productions bankrolling the film.  The movie is currently being shot at Mumbai and is slated to be released for Pongal, 2020.
