There is a buzz regarding Indian 2, Shankar, Kamal Haasan's ambitious sequel-in-the-making and word has it that the movie which is expected to serve as a political platform for Kamal Haasan, has run into a budget over-run, leaving producers Lyca Productions concerned.
It is being said that the first schedule of the Indian 2 was planned with a budget of Rs. 2.5 Crore but has unexpectedly ended up shooting to a whopping Rs. 6 Crore. With the first schedule still incomplete and the set erected costing the producers Rs. 70,000 per day in upholding, Lyca has been left with no choice but to re-analyze its costs in the last three months.
Murmurs suggest that Kamal Haasan facing make-up issues for the film and demanding double his usual remuneration, has contributed majorly to the film's shooting not going as planned.
With the movie currently not being shot and Lyca pulling the plug tentatively for a cost-check, it has come to a point where the grapevine fears the shelving of Indian 2.
