Peranbu starring Mammootty and Sadhana in the lead roles directed by Ram has completed the censor formalities and has been awarded U/A certificate. The run time of the film is 2 hours and 27 minutes. The film is gearing up for release in September. The makers are planning to release the film on September 7 on the occasion of Mammootty's birthday.

The movie has been showcased at several International film festivals and has received many accolades. The film traces the life of a doting father and the bond he shares with his differently-abled daughter. Produced by P.L. Thenappan under Shree Raja Lakshmi Films,  it also features Anjali, Samuthirakani, Livingston, Vadivukkarasi, Aruldoss in important roles. The technical crew of this film includes Yuvan Shankar Raja for music, Theni Easwar for cinematography and Surya Pradhaman for the edits.
