In a recent print interview, composer Anirudh spoke about his upcoming musical Kolamavu Kokila (CoCo) among many other things and let slip what the film's plot revolves around. Anirudh confirmed that the film has been made as a dark comedy (similar to that of Jigarthanda, Va Quarter Cutting) and has Nayanthara playing a lady who resorts to drug peddling when poverty strikes.
What happens next is what forms the rest of the film's story. Now, this totally explains dark tone of the film's posters, its short title CoCo (like the drug Coco Loco) and even the font used which seems like a drug spread.
CoCo is directed by Nelson, produced by Lyca Productions and also starrs Saranya Ponvannan, Yogi Babu and TV anchor Jacqueline among others. The film has Sivakumar Vijayan for cinematography and Nirmal for the edits. Kalyaana Vayasu, a second single from the movie which is penned by Sivakarthikeyan will be releasing later today.
