In a startling new development, the makers of a yet unreleased Kannada movie, which goes by the name Parivara have filed a petition against Gopi Nainar's Aramm. According to reports, Parivara was made in 2013 and its maker Manoj Kumar has complained that Aramm is based on his story. He has also demanded a ban on the film plus a compensation of Rs. 2 crore for releasing the film, without officially getting rights from him.

This has come as a rather ironical move given that a few years ago, Gopi Nainar was found petitioning against A.R. Murugadoss' Kaththi for story plagiarism, a few years ago. Aramm is his directorial debut featuring Nayanthara in the lead, with Nayanthara's former manager's banner (KJR Studios) as the producer.
