MovieCrow Box Office Report - October 21 to 26

It was quite an interesting battle at the box office during the long Ayudha Pooja weekend as Vijay Sethupathi's Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Vikram's 10 Enradhukulla had hit the screens on October 21. Check out how things unfolded at the box office over the next 5 days.

1. Naanum Rowdy Dhaan dethrones 2. 10 Enradhukulla

Although both the movies had similar opening on the first day, things turned dramatically on the second day following reviews flooding the social media. Naanum Rowdy Dhaan had 30% more occupancy than 10 Enradhukulla on the second day, which left the industry in shock, considering Vikram's star power.

This trend further strengthened during the weekend, as Naanum Rowdy Dhaan shows ran to packed houses, while 10 Enradhukulla was just kept as a back-up option for the movie buffs. In a sample poll conducted by us on Twitter, 73% of voters revealed that they had booked the tickets for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, while the rest voted for watching 10 Enradhukulla. We can expect Naanum Rowdy Dhaan to further dominate the box office through this week.

3. Rudhramadevi

Anushka's Rudhramadevi couldn't sustain at the box office as it lost majority of its screens to new films. Plus, the word of mouth for the movie isn't also very encouraging.

Other Movies

Maya, Thani Oruvan and Puli were running across a handful of screens. While the former two have already been declared as blockbuster hits, Vijay's Puli has disappointed the trade big time.

Upcoming week's releases

Srikanth's Om Shanti Om will be hitting the screens across limited number of screens on October 30.
