MovieCrow Box Office Report - June 19 to 21

Vadivelu's Eli had hit the screens last weekend alongside Ganesh Venkatram's hardly known film Achaaram. Thanks to Vadivelu's charisma, Eli took a decent opening in spite of negative reviews, while Achaaram bombed rightaway without creating any buzz. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Romeo Juliet

Surprisingly, Jayam Ravi's Romeo Juliet held on well during its second weekend and registered good occupancy levels. The mixed reviews don't seem to affect the movie's prospects at the box office.

2. Eli

Vadivelu's Eli was unanimously trashed by the audience and critics for having an unexciting and tedious screenplay. Now that the initial buzz has settled down, the movie is most likely to crash at the box office.

3. Inimey Ippadithaan

Santhanam's Inimey Ippadithaan lost many of its screens in its second weekend. It would be interesting to see how the movie sustains at the box office this week, while competing with better films.

Other Movies

Kaaka Muttai was going strong at the multiplexes, while 36 Vayadhinile and Demonte Colony were running across a handful of screens. Masss and OK Kanmani had just a show each in the city.

Upcoming week's releases

Vishnu Vishal's Indru Netru Naalai, Aadhi's Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka and Vemal's Kaaval will be releasing on June 26.
