There was buzz in film circles that Jana Nayagan producer KVN Productions LLP had agreed to a reference to the CBFC’s revising committee. Amid this speculation, a leading magazine reached out to the CBFC for clarity.

Responding to the query, CBFC Chennai Regional Officer D. Balamurali said, “I don't have any information. Even if I do have, I cannot reveal it at this stage. All of our examination processes are confidential. We cannot reveal anything until a certificate is issued. The law prohibits sharing of any such information. The public will get to know only when the film gets certified. At that time, we will communicate through our portal.”

With the certification process still ongoing and no certificate issued yet, the release date of Jana Nayagan remains uncertain.
